Ballad Of The Centuries

Spring will be coming
Replacing the snow
Waiting for summer
Forgetting the cold
Wars have been won
But much has been lost
People continue
Forgetting
the cost

And they think they know
It will never change
Things they do
They think they have to do
In the same way
As birds fly
Men die

Men have been wealthy
While too many were poor
Some men spoke of freedom
But few men did more
Progress is with us
But nothing's
Really new
Love for our neighbor
Is still practiced
By few

And they think they know
It will never change
Things they do
They think they have to do
In the same way
As birds fly
Men die

Clouds will be with us
And the sun will always shine
Nature always changes
Yet she keeps her ancient rhime
But if we learn to understand
The power to understand
We could plan a world peace party
Instead of pieces of parties
Making war plans

Then maybe thing would change
When together we harmonize
To our own new life lines
In the Ballad of the Centuries
In the same way
As lovers sigh
Men fly
